Salary: Teacher, $85,610 - $124,046 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)
This is a 8 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2025 with possible extension.
Australind Senior High School (SHS) is located north of Bunbury with easy access to the wider Southwest region. Australind SHS is the largest Independent Public School in the South West region of Western Australia. Are you a positive and passionate English Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity?
Australind SHS is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative English Teacher who is responsive to change and willing to cater for a variety of learning styles across Year 7 - 12 English Courses. You should have a commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes.
As the successful applicant, you will be an enthusiastic, dedicated English teacher with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Our English department is well resourced, collaborative, and looking for innovative and committed teachers to join our team.
You will ideally be able to demonstrate a strong commitment and capacity to fulfill the following:
- Plan, teach and deliver to classes in both Lower and Senior School.
- Create and design face-to-face lessons with clear learning objectives and outcomes.
- Use existing learning materials and develop your own as required.
- Document and maintain assessment results in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and monitor student learning and course progress.
- Play a role in student consultations, assessment grading and moderation.
- Create an interactive and positive learning environment for students.
With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum for English and proven teaching and learning strategies that support the development of sound literacy practice. Experience in teaching and assessing English in years 7-12 is highly desired, in addition to experience in using Learning Management Systems eg Compass, and other technologies within the classroom.
