Job Description

The International School of Western Australia (ISWA) is an independent, non-denominational, co-educational school for local and international students from K-12, operating on a northern hemisphere academic calendar. ISWA embraces international-mindedness, with students and families from approximately 60 nationalities forming a vibrant school community.

ISWA's purpose is to empower students' unique development in an inclusive, inquiry-focused environment where they can thrive in the world.

ISWA is seeking a fully qualified Teacher Librarian (K-Year 12) for a permanent full-time contract commencing as soon as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Perth's only International Baccalaureate (IB) international school and be part of a dynamic teaching community.

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates:

  1. A record of innovative practice and teaching in a library context
  2. The ability to inspire diverse, multicultural, and mixed-ability classes by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
  3. A strong desire and proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in and out of the classroom
  4. An outstanding ability to build positive relationships and foster a sense of community among students, parents, and staff, with the library as a central hub of school life
  5. Experience in delivering a concept-based curriculum through inquiry learning
  6. A commitment to valuing diversity and creating a library environment where all students feel a sense of belonging
  7. Curiosity, open-mindedness, and a willingness to reflect on and adapt their teaching practices

Experience working in international schools and/or delivering IB Programmes is highly desirable but not essential.

The school reserves the right to close the application process early if a suitable candidate is found.

Applicants must hold a current Working with Children Check (WWC) and be registered with the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
