Electoral Commission SA is expanding the team as we prepare to plan and deliver one of South Australia's largest logistical events, the 2026 State election.

In 2026, the Electoral Commission SA (ECSA) will employ a temporary election workforce of around 7,000 to assist in delivering the state election, and approximately 1,500 to deliver the local council elections.

The Training Officer is responsible for supporting the Election Training Manager to design, develop, and deliver high-quality training programs and resources, across a variety of formats to build the capability of ECSA's temporary election workforce.

Reporting to the Election Training Manager, key responsibilities include:

  • Creating, and/or updating and maintaining, online training modules and content, ensuring consistency with election systems and information in manuals and procedures.
  • Managing the testing, implementation and uploading of training content and materials to the LMS for ECSA's temporary election workforce.
  • Organising training workshops and conferences including catering and logistics, preparing, packaging and dispatching training materials, as required.
  • Supporting the Election Training Manager to conduct face-to-face training sessions.
  • Providing a range of administration support, including preparation of reports for various stakeholders.

Applications are encouraged from individuals with demonstrated experience in creating training content and materials in various formats, and experience in event management and learning management system administration.

Highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills, ability to collaborate across teams, and excellent organisational and administrative skills are essential to this role.

Special Conditions

  • This role is offered on a temporary term basis up to 18 December 2026.
  • In order not to compromise the strict neutrality of the Commission, no person who is active in political affairs or intends to carry on this activity may be an employee.
  • Employment is dependent upon a criminal history check that the Commission finds satisfactory.
  • Extensive out of normal working hours duty may be required during election events.
  • Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.

Remuneration

  • ASO5 - $85,790 to $95,413 per annum
