About the Role As a Youth Worker, you will work within our Residential Care services to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. Together with the Hope and Healing framework, we aim to provide a therapeutic program that involves helping children and young people form positive beliefs about themselves, guiding them to build positive, trusting, and respectful relationships with others and contributing to their overall well-being and development.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a positive work-life balance for our workers, you will work across a flexible roster, with shifts typically lasting 8 hours, which may include passive (sleeping) overnight shifts. You will also receive an in-depth induction with comprehensive training that has been developed to ensure best practices leading to positive outcomes for children and young people.

- Provide emotional support and guidance
- Support a child/young person's well-being and development
- Act as a positive role model
- Provide school support with homework and projects
- Assist with daily routines and attend appointments
- Responding to and managing crises (including reporting)

Eligibility Criteria You will need to be enrolled to complete or have completed minimum qualifications in any of the following:
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (preferred)
- Certificate IV in Community Services
- Certificate IV in Youth Work
- Certificate IV in Disability
Complete or enrolled to complete minimum training in the courses below:
- HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (within the past 3 years)
- HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate (issued within the past 12 months)
Required clearances you'll need to have or to apply for:
- National Police Check
- Current Blue Card/Working with Children Check
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- or if you are eligible to obtain a Combined Check for Blue and Yellow Cards
And you will need to have:
- A current QLD Driver's License (P2 or above)
- Your own private vehicle that is fully registered
- A vehicle roadworthy report may need to be completed for vehicles over 10 years old
